New LAEP EAI Report: Strengthening the Early Childhood Workforce
How do we ensure our youngest learners have the best possible start? It begins with empowering the educators who guide them.
We are proud to share the latest evaluation of LAEP’s Ready2Teach (R2T) Workforce Development Program (2023-25). This report, Preparing Teachers to Work with Infants and Toddlers, explores how our unique coaching and residency model is tackling the early childhood education crisis head-on.

This evaluation was conducted by LAEP’s Evaluation, Accountability, and Impact (EAI) team. The EAI department’s mission is to authentically partner with colleagues, interest holders, and clients to design and implement culturally responsive and racially equitable evaluations that amplify stories of impact. Aligned with the lived experiences of the people we serve, this highly qualified and diverse team designs human-centered evaluations, shares data in innovative and actionable ways, and strengthens the evaluation capacity of all interest holders.
By providing aspiring educators with hands-on experience and specialized training in infant and toddler development, Ready2Teach is building a sustainable pipeline of high-quality teachers for Los Angeles families.
